Mentor and Big Hearts have renewed their Men’s Kinship Care Group for 2018.
From April 24th to April 30th, Mentor is leading Kinship Care Week for England to celebrate the dedication of kinship carers, raise awareness and funds for kinship care projects, and promote best practice among the professional community that supports these families.
Mentor is delighted to announce the launch of the new National Kinship Care Website for Scotland, kinship.scot, the first site of its kind. This site will complement Mentor’s National Kinship Care Resource Guide by providing kinship families with information and advice, as well as access to training, policy updates, local and national support and all the latest news and events across Scotland.
Mentor is delighted to announce the publication of the third edition of its Kinship Care Guide. The Guide was first published in 2009 and has since become a vital resource for both kinship carers and professionals, providing a definitive account of responsibilities, legal rights, financial rights and support for kinship carers in Scotland.
The Scottish Government are carrying out a consultation on how education is run: who should make decisions about the education of children and young people and how can funding of education be made fairer. They want to hear views from every part of Scotland, and have asked Mentor to share this review with parents and carers, and children and young people, especially those in kinship care.
