Mentor UK is honored to have Hanna Head as one of our trustees. Hanna is an MA Comparative Drugs & Alcohol Studies student at Middlesex University, who has previously volunteered in her local drug treatment service after personally seeing the negative impact that drug use has had on family and friends. She is also part of the secretariat for the APPG for Drug Policy Reform, and works to organise a group of MPs who have acknowledged that current drug policy is increasing harms to individuals and communities.

Hanna has been an active member in both youth and community organising, and has worked on engaging young people in shaping their education through her previous students’ union. She has also undertaken research around drug policy and drug education within higher education institutions, working alongside Release and NUS.  As a former trustee of Yellow Door (formerly Southampton Rape Crisis), and Solent Students’ Union, she was involved in organisational restructuring work, championed youth voices and highlighted barriers to young people engaging with services.
