Mentor publishes Kinship Care Guide 3rd edition

[SCOTLAND] Mentor is delighted to announce the publication of the third edition of its Kinship Care Guide. The Guide was first published in 2009 and has since become a vital resource for both kinship carers and professionals, providing a definitive account of responsibilities, legal rights, financial rights and support for kinship carers in Scotland.

Louise Cattell Memorial Gig in Aid of Mentor UK

[PRESS RELEASE] A memorial gig is being held on 2 March, at Nambucca, Upper Islington for Louise Cattell who died exactly six years ago in March 2011. The proceeds for the event will fund work progammes for the drugs and alcohol prevention charity Mentor UK.

[RESEARCH] Having recently secured funding for an additional three years of the Alcohol and Drugs Education and Prevention Information Service (ADEPIS), Mentor are currently looking for research professionals to help us strengthen the ADEPIS platform by evaluating services provided from 2013-present, in order to inform the delivery of future activities.

Kinship Families' Views on Education: Scottish Government Review

[SCOTLAND] The Scottish Government are carrying out a consultation on how education is run: who should make decisions about the education of children and young people and how can funding of education be made fairer. They want to hear views from every part of Scotland, and have asked Mentor to share this review with parents and carers, and children and young people, especially those in kinship care.
