The Families Together team came together to help a kinship care family who are forced to hurriedly move into a new house in desperate need of refurbishment. In one hectic weekend, the Families Together project manager Liz and Family Support Worker Yvonne rallied the support of the community to enable the family to start their new life with a fresh lick of paint.

New Year’s Honours for Kinsfolk Carer

EDINBURGH, 1 JANUARY 2015 – Among the New Year's Honours, Edinburgh resident Yvonne Ramsey has become only the second ever citizen to be awarded the British Empire Medal for services to kinship care. The medal, which is awarded for meritorious civil service, recognises Yvonne's exceptional dedication and relentless hard work in supporting kinship carers in Edinburgh and throughout Scotland.
