Kinship Mentoring Programme

Having supported kinship carers for a number of years, we can clearly see that while they have been through the mill and face continuous struggles they are an inspiration. They have many hidden talents and their experiences and learning is in abundance. That is why we feel that they are the best people to support other kinship carers within their community.

Having supported kinship carers for a number of years we can clearly see that while they have been through the mill and face continuous struggles they are an inspiration. They have many hidden talents and their experiences and learning is in abundance. That is why we feel that they are the best people to support other kinship carers within their community.

Upon supporting kinship families, we encourage carers to use the skills, information and training to make a difference not only to their lives but to other families.

Those carers who choose to do so receive structured training and intense support to build on skills and knowledge so that they are able to support others appropriately. We will continually provide support and supervision to ensure they are confident and happy in their role which involves facilitating training, supporting families, youth activities or holding events, depending on their interests.
